nyjc choir concert
juz came back from supper with jiayin, tim, michelle, amy, jac n dq.
was at NYJC attending the choir concert before that. i gotta know that their concert title was "Cadenza 2005", and was rather surprised by it. I tot "Cadenza III" wld be the last time the name "Cadenza" will be used for an NYJC choir performance. that was quite many years back liaoz.... 4 years liaoz. Cadenza was consonance's second public performance. think after that, nyjc dun have any concert liaoz. wah.... come to think of it, itz been quite long ago!
anyway, what i wanna say is, i was glad to know "Cadenza" is still being used. afterall, cadenza placed a special meaning to the older nyjc choristers. dun believe, ask junhong they all.
the concert was.... mediocre. actually, i found first half quite bad. many mistakes, and voices wasn't really geling. sounded rather stiff, and throaty. the basses was seriously lacking in past time with good company. sops weren't able to hit the high notes well. tenors was soft (but there are true tenors in the choir, not bad!), and i din listen much to altos. sunset and exsultate deo were quite a disaster i felt. but at least, the last 2 songs of the first half were much better though.
the cutest thing is, jiayin sang for one of the soloists! hahaha... it was quite distinct for me lar... having heard her sing for so many years. but charlene doesn't seem to have noticed it though.
second half was much better. they were doing walt disney medley. singing still wasn't very good, and they are very much on the softer side. but, the whole spirit is very good. i love their dances and choreography. it was lively, very bright, smiles on their faces, and they are feeling the music more. as such, they are able to convey it much better to the audiences too. nice!
glad to see the choir is still surviving strong. spirits still high. shiok. but come to think of it, hmm.... itz been many years since i've ever felt high and elated after concert.... and sad to say oso, i dun think i will feel much for this coming concert.

*yawnz* i shall go and watch anime now... finish full metal alchemist liaoz. shiok! time to start reading Da Vinci Code!
*haven't downloaded the rest of the photos from my KL trip. after i've done so, i shall go complete my half written memo*
